Practical Spirituality for a Modern Life

Portrait of Rev. William Livingston, Minister Unity of Melbourne
Welcome to Unity of Melbourne!

Greetings Fellow Traveler’s on the Path,

We have been following The Twelve Powers and this month (May) the Power is

                                       POWER-DOMINION.

The colour is Purple and the Disciple Philip.

The position in the body is the base of the tongue/voice box.

The qualities of this power are to master, dominate control.

To apply this Power I need to put my thought into action. God supplies me with every good thing (ideas and substance) but I have to make the effort through my own physical and mental God given attributes to make use of what I already have and build on these abilities as directed by Spirit.

I can take Dominion over myself (not others), affirm peace where there is discord, and affirm plenty where there is seemingly lack.

Old Concepts of Power                             New Concepts of Power

Might makes right                                      Right makes right

Power Struggles                                        Conflict Resolution

Violence is necessary                               Non-violence is necessary

Top dog/ underdog                                   Equality/ sharing power

God is all-powerful                                    We are co-creators with God

For more on this Power I suggest you join us this month, as we journey through Chapter V1 from “The Twelve Powers” by Charles Fillmore.

Also, you can hear more during our Sunday Morning Meetings at 10:30AM as we ponder more on this vital Power and some of the ways we can use it.

“The Unity Five Principles” group meets for discussion on Saturdays at 10.30 AM

Starting on Sat. 23rd June, Lesley French will present two five hour sessions based on the book “How to pray without talking to God. The second session is on the 30th June.

This can be taken for credit as part of the Spiritual Development Programme, or for anyone interested in the subject.

  Blessings

Rev. William Livingston
